Feeding our feathered friends.

Most the people in my area of north Idaho like to feed the birds, we have so many they are all so beautiful and fun to watch. There songs, there squawks, there commets coming through open windows on a summer day.
The birds around this area are robins, house sparrows, blue jays, nuthatch, and chickadee, and a lot more. My favorite birds to feed are goldfinch and the titmouse all small birds, of the game bird my favorite to watch and feed are the pheasant and the turkey all though lot of people are starting to hate the turkeys cause there are so many and can be pretty messy.

I will mention whats the best food to feed for what bird. Thistle seed is the favorite for all the smaller birds. The style of feeder you use for thistle is a type of netted sock.
Sunflower Seeds are the most popular for all the birds but now they arent cheap around $26.00 up $30.00.
You can buy a #50 bag of cracked corn for less than $13.00 and that would last all summer except if you got deer, as we do, they also love all types of corn.
Most the time in the cold winter months its good to give the little birds a cake of suet. To make yours for less than nothing ask your butcher at the store if they have a package of suet take it home make a ball and roll it in some wildbird seed then watch the birds finish it off. Once again, I would love to have all you bird lovers come to Bordertown Feed and lets talk about the fun we have feeding all our featherd friends. I have alot of other ideas on different styles of feeders and some plants you can grow they like to be around.
So untill I see or hear from ya have fun.
